Daytona Beach Yearly Events

What is there to do in Daytona Beach? A look into events throughout the year in Daytona Beach.

Although hundreds of events are hosted yearly in Daytona Beach, Daytona Beach is famous for several. When you think of Daytona, you think of two things: The World's Most Famous Beach and birthplace of NASCAR.

Home of the Daytona International Speedway, this track hosts the kick start to the season with the Daytona 500 in February, Bike races in March during Bike Week, Coke Zero 400 in July, and the Rolex 24 in January.

Daytona Beach also holds two annual bike events. Two weeks a year people from all over the world come to ride and show off their bikes. The Main event is Bike week, which is held every March. More than 500,000 people will attend this event every year. Biketoberfest, the smaller event of the two, is usually held the middle of October.

For you classic car lovers, the Turkey Rod Run is perfect for you. Held at Daytona International Speedway, thousands and thousands of classic cars are shown off at this event. This event is three days long, and always starts the last weekend of November.  It is quite an experience to see all the antique cars driving up and down the streets.

Another fun family event for those vacationing in Daytona Beach, is the Star Spangled Summer. Hosted by the Boardwalk Merchants every Saturday night from Memorial Day to Labor Day weekend. The Bandshell which is located at the end of the boardwalk holds free concerts from tribute bands which consist of music from The Beatles, Journey, Lynard Skynard, The Rolling Stones, Bon Jovi, and many more. Also at 9:45 pm, fireworks are shot off from the end of the Main Street Pier for you to enjoy.
